Death
James Melville Miller died at his home in Ligonier township Friday evening, June 17. He was 74 years of age. Surviving are his widow, Jennie Brant Miller, and the following children: George M. Miller and William S. Miller, both of Ligonier township; Mrs. Mary Doris, of Latrobe; Mrs. Bessie Carns and Mrs. Oda Hegan, both of Laughlintown, and Mrs. Doris May Furr, of Ligonier township. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive as do three sisters: Mrs. Rebecca Shaffer, of Latrobe; Mrs. Sadie Palmer, R. D., Ligonier, and Mrs. Olive Hauger, of Donegal. Friends were received at the late residence. Funeral services were held there Monday at 2:00 p. m. in charge of the Rev. Frank B. Hackett, pastor of the Laughlintown Evangelical United Brethren Church. Interment followed in the Ligonier Valley cemetery.The Ligonier Echo, Ligonier, Pennsylvania, June 24, 1949
