Death
RICHMOND — Charleen Virginia (Rankin) Furr, 89, widow of Ira Edwin Furr, of 4403 Forrest Hill Ave., died at 6:45 a.m. Sun- day (July 26, 1998) at Capitol Hospital. She was born in Augusta County on July 10, 1909, the daughter of Nora (Sprouse) Rankin. She was employed by Genesco- L-Grief in Verona. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Ernest Lee “Bud” Furr of Chesterfield; two sisters, Elsie Tinsley and Gladys Rodgers, both of Staunton; one granddaughter and her husband, Drs. Sara Marcella Furr and John Smith of North Carolina; one granddaughter-in-law, Olivia Furr; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Francis Funk.Endnotes
