Death

Mary Ann McGee, 70, a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, in Broaddus Hospital. Mary was born Aug. 31, 1950, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Lowell Junior and Mary Belle (Furr) Tenney. Mary was united in marriage in June of 1994 to Hayward McGee Jr., who survives at home. Also surviving is son, William “Billy” Knight and wife, Ellen, of Philippi; sister, Pam Burner and husband, Skip, of Philippi; and grandchildren, Lori and Will Knight. Mary was preceded in death by daughter, Lori Ann Knight. She worked as a nurse for Broaddus Hospital, and more recently as an aide for the North Central Community Action Head Start in Philippi. She attended the Elk City United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored and were her whole life. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family
