Death
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 for E. O. Carr, prominent Fishersville resident who died Saturday following an illness of several days. Dr. C. F. Steck, Sr. was the minister and interment was in Riverview. Mr. Carr was 71 years old, having been born May 1, 1865. For many years he was rural letter carrier at Fishersville from which he retired in 1930. He was widely known through Augusta County and was active in Democratic party circles. His wife was Miss Minnie Campbell, whom he married on October 10, 1895. She preceded him to the grave by three years. Surviving are the following children, Mrs. S. E. Hankey, of Fishersville, Mrs. Frank Gilbert, of Staunton route 3, and George O. Carr, of Charlottesville, and the following grandchildren, Clementine and Joe Gilbert, Jean Carr and Charles Furr. Active pallbearers were E. M. Mantiply, R. L. Saunders, John McChesney, S. M. Benson, W. A. Mowery, and W. M. Mason. Honorary pallbearers: Frank Lambert, Simon Gilbert, Marvin Fielding, L. L.
