Death
Sandy Lee Furr, 49, 223 N Main Street, Mellott, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 1998 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. He had been in failing health for the past two years. Born in Williamsport, January 6, 1949, he was the son of LeRoy C. and Norma M. Snodgrass Furr. He had formerly lived in Frankfort for several years and had resided in Mellott for one and a half years. He was a graduate of Southwestern High School. He worked for several years with the Dura-Crete Construction Company near Lebanon. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in peace time during the post Vietnam era. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge at Lafayette. Survivors: mother, Norma Furr, Mellott; sons, Christopher and Michael Furr, both of West Lafayette; brother, Gary Furr, Frankfort; and granddaughter, Brittany Furr. He was preceded in death by his father; son Jonathan; sister, Barbara; and brothers, Ronald and Gerald. Military graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Dry Run Cemetery, east of Mellott with Pastor Richard Carty officiating; Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of the arrangements.
