Betty J. Furr, age 65, of French Lick, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away at 11:15 P.M. on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on February 1, 1953, the daughter of William “Bill” Robert & Emma Dale (Graham) Shearin. Betty enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and her family. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband whom she married on September 20, 1996, Charles “Chuck” D. Furr, nieces and nephews, William Bray of Plainfield, Crystal (Jeff) Dalton of Poland, Michael Bray of Clay City, John (Yvonne) Bray of Indianapolis, & Shelbie (Pete) Clark of Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Sarah Fisher and Susan Cary, both of Grand Haven, MI, a brothers-in-law, Matthew Furr of New York City, NY, father & mother-in-law, George Birton & Gaye Elaine Hilson, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Emma Jean Orcutt, Visitation will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Graveside service will be held at Zion Cemetery in Poland on Saturday 2:00 P.M. following the visitation.Endnotes
