Death

Elva N. Kilby, of Troutville, VA. formerly of Culpeper, VA passed away peacefully on December 9, 2016. Elva was a member of Troutville Baptist Church and prior to moving to Troutville, a longtime member of Culpeper Baptist Church. Elva sold Avon in Culpeper for over fifty years. She was born in Jefferston, VA on October 15, 1927, she was preceded in death by her father, Armistead F. Ney and mother, Mary Furr Ney, 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 68 years J.L. Kilby, Jr., and son and daughter-in-law, John and Mardee Kilby of Daleville. 3 grandchildren, Beth Kelley (Matt), Lauren Spencer, (Phillip) and Jay Kilby (Jessica) six great grandchildren, Audrey, Bennett and Caroline Kelley, Kendall Spencer, Jack and Emma Kilby. She also survived by two sisters, Lucille Gordon and Charissa Busby and sister-in-law, Mary Lee Poe. Funeral services will be at The Clore-English Funeral Home in Culpeper, Va. On Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jefferston, VA. The family will receive friends at Clore-English Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday December 12, 2016. In lieu of flowers, Please consider a donation to Woodhaven Nursing Home Fund, P.O.
