Death
Edna Virginia Ney Gore, 93, of Culpeper, Va. passed away in the Dogwood Village of Orange, Va., Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Mrs. Gore was born August 6, 1916 to Armisted F. Ney and Mary Furr Ney in The Plains, Va.; was a member of the Culpeper Baptist Church; was a lady of strong faith; loved family gatherings; was a good friend to many; was a hard working, tidy homemaker; was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; was independent, compassionate and steadfast. Surviving Mrs. Gore is her son, Taylor E. (Ted) Gore and his wife Judy of Culpeper, Va.; her grandchildren, Melissa G. Tolson and her husband Mitchell of Mechanicsville, Va., Virginia Lynn Gore of Ruckersville, Va., Mitchell T. Gore of Exton, Pa. and Jill C. Breeden of Culpeper, Va.; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Y. Gore of Mechanicsville, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth T. Lassiter, Sarah Tolson, Mathew Tolson, Ellis M. Gore, Brennan Reeves, Taylor J. Gore and Martin P. Gore; her sisters, Fannie Weaver of Bealeton, Va., Lucille Gordon of King George, Va., Clarissa Busby and her husband Frank of Pensacola, Fla. and Elva Kilby and her husband J.L. of Culpeper, Va. Preceding her in death is her husband, Ellis F. Gore; her son, Ellis F. (Buddy) Gore, Jr.; her brothers, Marshall J. Ney, Armisted E. Ney, Leslie L. Ney and Walter B. Ney; her sisters, Mary Garrison, Estelle Robles, Evelyn Davis and her parents. The family wishes to express appreciation for the outstanding staff professionals at Dogwood Village who provided loving, compassionate care for mother during her last months. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral home with Rev. John S. Farrar conducting the service. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends Friday, April 9, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m.Published in The Culpeper StarExponent on April 9, 2010
