Death

COVINGTON -- Dollie C. Laird Grubb, 100, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at The Waters of Covington. She was born in Hillsboro, on Nov. 19, 1910, daughter of the late Edward and Eva Furr Laird. She was raised in Hillsboro and attended Hillsboro High School. She lived for more than 50 years in Covington and was a resident of The Waters in Covington since 2005. On March 2, 1930, she married Granville Grubb Jr. in Veedersburg. He died Sept. 8, 1977. Mrs. Grubb worked at General Electric from 1948 until her retirement in 1973. Surviving are five children, Betty Linne of Danville, Ill., June Stephens of Kokomo, Quentin Grubb (wife: Rosemary) of St. Charles, Ill., Don Grubb (wife: Gloria) of Oxford and Carolyn Stiffler of Pensacola, Fla. Services are Sunday in Hillsboro.
