Harvey Turkel, 71, of Bokum Rd., Chester, beloved husband of Elaine (Elkin) Turkel, died Frieday, (June 2, 2000) at the CT Hospice in Branford.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, January 8, 1929, son of the late Sidney and Dorothy Turkel.
He was a partner in the business of R. & M. Provisions Food Distributors in Essex, retiring in 1996.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Freeman and her husband Andrew, and Marcee Eckert and her husband Tim, all of Chester;
five grandchildren: Joshua, Daniel, and Jami Freeman, and
Rachel and Danielle Eckert, all of Chester.
He was predeceased by a sister, Muriel Krefsky.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 4, 4 p.m. at the home of Robin Freeman, 14 Butter Jones Rd., Chester. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Connecticut Hospice, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405. The Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main St., Deep River, has charge of arrangements.
