Wiley Cecil White, Jr., 79, of Crossett, died Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Mr. White was a native and raised in Montrose, a resident of Crossett for the past three years, and a former resident of Hamburg and Junction City for most of his life. He was a Lumber Inspector, having worked for P.E. Barnes Lumber Company for over 20 years.
He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Junction City, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday school teacher and he sang in the choir. He enjoyed every minute of being a member and worshiping in that church. He was currently attending Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. White enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to auctions to purchase items and give them to their friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Sue White in 2017; a grandson, Rusty James Savage in 2014; his parents, Wiley Cecil White, Sr. and Eula Maxine Johnson Martin and his brother-in-law, Teddy Hickman.
He is survived by a son, Barry White of Crossett; four daughters, Melanie Collins and husband, Tim, Alisa White, all of Crossett, Lesley Bayer and husband, Todd, and Mary Ashley White all of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister, Linda Hickman of Hamburg; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew,
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Promise Land Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Richard West and Bro. Joey Meredith officiating.
Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, Ethan Bayer, Eli Bayer, and Garrett Blankenship, his sons-in-law, Todd Bayer and Tim Collins and his nephew, Todd Hickman.
