Clarence Edward Nelms

Clarence Edward Nelms, 94, of Stuttgart passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Baptist Health-Little Rock.
Mr. Nelms was born July 8, 1926, in Hamburg, Ark., to Benjamin and Cora Nelms. He retired as shift foreman after over 30 years with Riceland. He always enjoyed gardening and was known to sit in a rocking chair under the pear tree to "watch his garden grow". He had a passion for the outdoor whether it be hunting, trapping or fishing. He loved to entertain big crowds with a fish fry or singing around the piano, but his great love was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with them. He was a deacon and faithful member of Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Nelms; two brothers, Raymond Nelms and Billy Nelms; and three sisters, Bertie Smith, Laurie Baucum and Doris Selby.
Survivors are his wife of 73 years, Edna Nelms; children, Gary Nelms and wife Diania, Sharon Booth and Wanda Hooker, all of Stuttgart; sister, Christine Ingle of Monroe, La.; seven grandchildren, Shelly (Blake) Strain, Jennifer (Johnathan) Reaves, Brad Booth, Alisha (Health) Robertson, Rhonda (Adithya) Errabelli, Chris Hooker and Jared Hooker; four great-grandchildren; Hannah Booth, Emily Reaves Nellina Errabelli and Haley Strain; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aubrielle and Elijah Booth.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Don Nelms and Bro. Heath Loftis, are 2 p.m. Friday at Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1- 2 p.m. Friday also at the church.
