Dora Jean Stell

Jean Stell Cahill, 82, of Pine Bluff died Friday, January 21, 2000, at the Davis Life Care Center in Pine Bluff. Born October 3, 1917, in the Promise Land community outside Hamburg to the late David E. and Johnnie Mae Smith Stell, she received her education in Hamburg and graduated from Hamburg High School. She worked 27 years as a clerk for Good Grocery Company which later became Good Home Center and also at J. C. Penny as an alternation lady until she retired in 1985. A member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Dave Cahill; a sister, Frances Stell Kelley; and a brother, John D. Stell.
Survivors include a son, Ira Don Cahill of Sherrill; three sisters, Celeste Fairweather of Davenport, Iowa, Carrie Austin of Monticello and Betty Donaldson of Crossett; two grandsons, David and Doug Cahill, both of Morrilton; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Rev. Houston Austin officiating. Burial followed services at the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Conway County Community Center, 1307 North Business 9, Morrilton, AR 72110.
