William Oliver Carpenter

William Oliver Carpenter, 87, of Hamburg, died Monday, February 22, 2021. Mr. Carpenter was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg and a graduate of Hamburg High School. He worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for over 20 years and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Carpenter loved to hunt and fish and was a lifelong member of the Mist Deer Camp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John F. & Lala Emory Carpenter; three brothers, Clifton Doyle Carpenter, Glynn “Poe” Carpenter and Quinton F. Carpenter; four sisters, Hazel Emogene White, Mattie Ruth Threlkeld, Mary Louise Thomas, and Marjorie Nathlee Moore.
He is survived by his brother, James Edwin Carpenter of Crossett; his life-long friends and care-givers, Charles “Bull” & Betty Wells of Hamburg, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the Promise Land Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Josh Luellen and Bro. Trey Emory officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery.
