Mrs. Janelle C. "Mama Nell" Emory, 76, of Hamburg died Friday, January 19, 2007, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for the past 65 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bobby Emory of Hamburg; a son, Freddie Emory and wife Ann of Cleveland, TX; three daughters, DayLa Zieman and husband Sam of Spring, TX, Kayla Rabb and husband Brian and Susan Smith, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Emory, all of Hamburg; 15 grandchildren, Genia Emory Browning, Heather Emory Smith, Trey Emory, Richard Smith, Sarah Jane Smith Murphy, Hope Stansel Morris, Lisa Stansel Tanner, Matthew Emory, Gregory Stansel, Lindsey Emory, Ben Rabb, Brad Rabb, Mary Katherine Zieman, Anna Zieman and Margaret Zieman; and 10 great-grandchildren, John David Browning, Richie Browning, Bailey Smith, Cassidy Smith, Grant Smith, Logan Smith, Emma Murphy, Eli Honea, Cameron Emory and Kaiden Stansel.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richie Emory, in 2001; her parents, Alvin & Katie Reid Chadwick, two brothers, T.B. & Udell Chadwick; and a sister, Betty Chadwick Chavis.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 21, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Klois Hargis officiating. Burial followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Smith, Ben Rabb, Brad Rabb, Trey Emory, Matthew Emory, Joey Murphy, David Browning, Dwayne Smith, Doug Morris, Jason Tanner and Gregory Stansel. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Carl Locke Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.
