Rev. Cloy E. Chapman, 69, of Minden, LA, died Saturday, December 22, 2001, in Minden. He was born in Hamburg and attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary, serving for 42 years in the ministry. Rev. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar E. and Odiest Odell Chapman; two infant daughters, Rosalyn Carol and Wanda Jean Chapman; and three brothers, John, Albert and Roy Chapman.
Survivors include his wife, Opal E. Chapman of Minden, LA; a son, R. Dwayne Chapman and wife Pam of Minden; two grandsons, Jacob Dwayne and Travis Kyle Chapman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home chapel in Minden with Rev. Richard Methvin officiating, assisted by Revs. Don McCormick and Jim Crain. Burial followed services at the Whispering Pines Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Eastside Missionary Baptist Church building fund.
