The Rev. Roy E. Chapman, 62,of Minden died Monday at the Willis Knighton Medical Center following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday on the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Don McCormick, Joe Morell and Dr. Morris Cloud officiating.
Burial will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
He was born in Hamburg, Ark., and was a resident of Minden for two years. He was a retired minister and an instructor at Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary.
He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Chapman, and a brother, John Chapman.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Chapman, of Minden; a son, Royce, and wife, Donna Chapman, of Bossier City; a daughter, Rhonda Chapman Windham, of Vero Beach, Fla.; his mother, Mrs. Edgar Chapman, of Magnolia, Ark.; a son-in-law, John Windham; two brothers, the Rev. Cloy Chapman of Minden and Albert Junior Chapman of Magnolia; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tom Ray, Gene Murphy, David Price, Byron Lear, William Dunn, Lavelle Woods, Charles Adams and O.D. Greer.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary.
