Efstathios Koniditsiotis or Anagnostopoulos

(Abt 1843 - 1917)

Name from Panorea Kostakos, July 2016, Agios Ioannis, Sparta, Laconia to Carol Petranek. As for the Koniditsiotis family, their original name was Anagnostopoulos and those who moved to Amykles were related. Maragas was the "nickname" of my grandmother's Panagiota family. Their actual name is Anastasakos from Anogeia. The original name of the Koniditsiotis family was Anagnostopoulos, and they were from Koniditsa. Eleni's (Panorea's mother) great-grandfather moved to Sparta before 1900. He had worked as a clerk for the city of Sparta.

This Efstathios was the first Anagnostopoulos to leave Koniditsa and move to Amykles. He had 9 children. There is no photo of him. (Panorea Kostakos to Carol Kostakos Petranek, June 2018)

Name means the man who stands next to the priest in church and reads the Bible. (From Giannis Michalakakos, Oct 5, 2016)
