Note16 Aug 1901The first we have found of minnie's relationship with Charles Farmer is in August 1901 when Charles, the licensee of the Railway Hotel in Baddaginnie, Victoria, was defending an action to recover commission from him on the sale of his hotel. Miss Minnie Smith, his housekeeper, had some involvement in that she wrote a letter on his behalf which was pertinent to the case

Note1914Apparently Charles had not been paying his child support for his 2 children because in the NSW Police Gazette of 8 Apr 1914 his arrest was ordered and he was said to be living in the north of NSW somewhere. The complainant was Minnie Smith, 218 Cleveland St, Sydney
Note-shared5 Jan 1917() Charles Farmer's obituary appeared in the Albury Banner on 5 Jan 1917 which glossed over some of the more important aspects of his life: "The death occurred in Brisbane Hospital on New Years Eve of Mr. Charles Frederick Farmer, youngest son of the late Thomas Charles farmer & Theresa Farmer of Albury ... The deceased, who was 38, and was a native of Albury, and unmarried, had resided in Northern Queensland for some time, and, having contracted malarial fever, was on his way to Sydney for treatment when his death occurred"
