Emigration (fam)20 Nov 1838on the ship "Hero of Malown", arriving in Sydney on 1 Apr 1939 after a harrowing journey in which 16 days of gales in the Bay of Biscay damaged the ship. She lost her bulwarks and the front of her cuddy was completely washed away. After enduring the voyage of 132 days, the 244 emigrants were placed in quarantine for a further 19 days for a few cases of measles and small pox on board.
