Land
Henry Weaver reports that he, Henry Sturm and William Weaver leased the south end of James Ralph's plantation in 'Canetocky'. They were 'to Cleare and Improve as they see fit for there own profit Said tennents is to heave Six Crops from the date hereof'. But on Jan. 7, 1796 the two Henrys transferred their right and title of the lease to William Weaver and Adam Allan.Land
Another piece of evidence casting doubts on MonongaliaValley Henry WEAVER's being Christopher WEAVER's son is the
following partial copy (eliminating paragraphs not pertain-
ing to this subject) of a Clark County manuscript received
from James H. JOHNSON RIN941 (compiler has inserted para-
graph numbers) which places our Henry WEAVER in Mason County
KY in 1796:
1. It was in the fall of 1793 that William and Mary
Kiger WEAVER were preparing to leave Berkeley County,
Virginia, for Kentucky.
8. Seven years or more were passed in Kentucky, six of
these on the plantation of James Ralph. Henry WEAVER,
William WEAVER, and Henry STORM, all of Mason County
leased the south end of his plantation 'in Canetocky'.
They were 'to Cleare and Improve as the(y) see fit for
there own profit Said tennents is to heave Six Crops
from the deat hereof' (The date, unfortunately has been
cut from the 'Artikel of Agreement')
9. But shortly thereafter, Henry STORM and Henry WEAVER
assigned their right and title of the within lease
to William WEAVER and Adam ALLAN. They completed this
transaction by writing on the back of the original
lease. The date was January 27, 1796.
(Note from compiler - Marriage records of Mason County KY
1791-1836 page 5, 28 Jan 1794 show Nancy KIGER to Adam
Allen. This shows the probability that Adam was William
Weaver's brother-in-law.)

Death
John Weaver biography states that Henry was the only one to stay in Virginia.Biography
Henry Weaver, a son of Christopher Weaver, was born in Bucks County VA about 1755 and died in Mason County KY about 1802. His estate was inventoried in Mason County in September 1802.He married Sarah Sturm. Sarah was born in Berkley County VA about 1760 and died in Champaign County OH after May 1836.Henry was listed in the household of his brother in Law, Balthasar Wollam in the 1787 Berkley County VA tax list. About 1794, Henry Weaver, William Weaver and Henry Sturm signed a lease to "clear and improve, as they see fit for their own profit, and to have six crops from the south end of the plantation of James Ralph in Mason County KY. In 1796, Henry Weaver and Henry Sturm signed their portion of this lease to William Weaver and Adam Allen.
Sarah (Sturm) Weaver married John Grover September 14, 1805 in Mason County KY, stating that she had been a widow four years.

Henry's childrenHenry d. 1837
William b. 1799 (my great grandfather)
According to family history, as I think I mentioned to
you, William (1799) came to Hillsboro as a young man,
as his family were all killed - fire - feud -
Indians//??? Henry the elder died in 1802, and his two
brothers left for Ohio. Except - that according to
this supposing, my William had at least two brothers
living in Kentucky - James and Henry. Something must
have happened in 1802 that gravely effected the WEAV-
ERs. However, my William would have only been 3 years
old, so he would not even have been aware of his aunts,
uncles and cousins.
The 1800 census for Mason Co. lists two William
WEAVERs and a Sarah WEAVER. Since this was really a
tax list, it would mean that there were two William
WEAVER households, and a Widow WEAVER household. The
1810 census lists no WEAVERs, nor does the 1790.
No, I'm afraid this just doesn't hold water, for
if my William were the son of Henry, Henry would have
been on the 1800 census - unless, like Christopher, he
didn't come to Maysville immediately. Maybe he went
with Christopher to Lexington, thence came to Maysville
and died there in 1802. (Now I am just thinking on the
typewriter.) The names James, Henry, John, and William
persist as the male names coming down from my William.
My father is James, his older brother was Bert Henry.
(But this could be from Isaac Henry STRIDER, the oldest
son's name in the STRIDER line since our first American
born STRIDER in 1739.)
I would like to know what you think of this line
of reasoning. Descendants of Henry d. 1837 and of
James are still living in Maysville, or near there. Do
you think they might have records pertaining to my
William, or do you think that I am just guessing too
wildly?
