c. 1750- A graveyard is believed to have existed in the area of QUICKEL'S CHURCH, Conewago Township, prior to the existence of organized congregations of Lutheran and Reformed worshipers. Jacob Lischy began preaching as a missionary to the Reformed people in the area of the CONEWAGO and PARADISE Townships.

c.1760- The nucleus of the Lutheran and Reformed congregation at QUICKEL'S CHURCH, Conewago Township, may have had its beginnings in a schoolhouse.

1763- A Lutheran congregation was organized west of York by the pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, York. Forerunner of St. PAUL'S-WOLF'S LUTHERAN AND REFORMED CHURCH, West Manchester Township. a frame church was built.
- The Rev. Nicholas Nornell of Christ Lutheran Church in York began to serve Lutherans in the Conewago Township area. That year is used as the date for the beginning of QUICKEL'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH.

1767- Proprietors granted an application (similar to a warrant) for thirty acres in Dover township, "in trust for a School House including a House and Improvements already made for that purpose about six or seven years ago." QUICKEL'S CHURCH, Conewago Township.
-The Rev. John George Bager, a missionary, is said to have organized the Lutheran congregation of QUICKEL'S CHURCH. The Reformed congregation was organized about the same time.

1770 - The first register for the HANOVER REFORMED CHURCH was begun by Rev. Jacob Lischy.
2 1/2 acres of land were bought from Michael and Barbara Quickel on which a log church was built to replace school house/church structure erected for QUICKEL'S CHURCH, Conewago Township, 1763. First building was too far west from center of population.

1779- Deed for land survey for Michael Quickel in 1766 granted the land to the "Elders and Trustees of a Church which the Lutheran and Calvins Congregation have in the said Township." (QUICKEL'S CHURCH), Conewago Township, first appeared in the minutes of the Reformed coetus.

1796 - On January 12, 1796 lot No. 22 in Stringestown was conveyed to officials of the GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH (QUICKEL'S), Conewago Township, for use as a burial ground and/or to erect thereon a house for worship or seminary use. This property was sold in 1954.
1796- The congregations of FISSEL'S UNION CHURCH, Shrewsbury Township, purchased an adjoining farm of 291 1/4 acres for 15 pounds and 10 shillings.
On January 12, 1796 lot No. 22 in Strinestown was conveyed to officials of the GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH (QUICKEL'S), Conewago Township, for use as a burial ground and/or to erect thereon a house for worship or seminary use. This property was sold in 1954.
