Notes
Note
from Bob Rigg, Jr. 9/2/2017I spoke to Buzz and Bobbi in Thornton last year at the Bill Matlock memorial service. Buzz was completely alert….spoke about Dad and Jack and Jim and Gma Ruth Rigg.
His brother Stan moved to assisted living in San Diego a couple of years ago. Before that, he lived in Sherman Oaks with his second wife Liz….so I saw him at Dodger games, the Shirley birthday party at my house back in 2004, etc

Tonight we said goodbye to my Dad. He was 85 years old and had beat death many times but his body just wore out. He was diagnosed with leukemia 14 years ago and had a stem cell transplant 10 years ago thank to J Stanley Hargleroad his brother and my uncle. That was the best gift ever as it gave him a new lease on life and allowed him to get know five of his grandchildren he otherwise most likely never would have ever meet. I'm so thankful for all the lessons he has taught me and for all the sacrifices he made for me and my brother to allow us to be where we are today. As much as I already miss him, I'm glad to know that he is no longer in pain. Rest in sweet heavenly peace Dad.

Deems and Matt's dad is James "Buzz" Deems Hargleroad, son of James "Jim" Clayton Hargleroad and Beulah Deems (one of Ruth's best friends). Jim was Ruth's younger brother (Ralph was the youngest). Buzz & Roberta "Bobbi" Wells (2nd marriage) are parents to 2 sons - Deems Hargleroad and Matt Hargleroad. Please send thoughts, prayers and love to all the families. We remember Buzz and Bobbi coming to our house in Denver when we were young - they were passionate, enthusiastic, dedicated activists and missionaries helping people throughout the world.
The brother of Buzz is J Stanley Hargleroad & lives in California (and is on FB and in the Jim & Ruth Rigg group) - our thoughts, prayers and love go to Stan & his family also
I copied the pictures that Deems had posted. Plus I'm sending pictures from the June, 1967 Kansas City wedding that Buzz attended.
We recently had a visit from Deems and family - they were on an East Coast trip for work and pleasure (they drove from Colorado). They spent the night at our house, had a great time swimming in the pool and relaxing, went into NYC for sightseeing and appointments, went to Lancaster to visit the family gravesite (thanks to Nancy's excellent directions), drove to DC for further appointments and sightseeing and quickly met with John & Jen for more fun cousin time. Deems and John are similar in age, I believe.
Obituary
Brother James (Buzz) D Hargleroad, 85, passed away on August 23 with wife Bobbi at his side. They were in Fort Collins, CO where they now reside. He had a 14 year battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia being subjected to the ravages of chemo. The disease did go into remission for about seven years when I was able to be a donor with a stem cell transplant. The Rigg family gave Buzz his nickname when he spent much of one summer with them in Grand Junction in his early youth. Too many Jims.Buzz was born, raised, and educated in Nebraska, graduating from the UofN with a BA in Ag Economics. Being a NORTC (Naval Officer Reserve Training Corps) graduate, he served two years as an officer in the Marine Corps. Following military service he earned his divinity degree at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. His first clergy post was serving in the Presbyterian Church in Cozad, NE. Buzz officiated at our daughter's wedding along with his wife, Bobbi who is also a pastor. He also participated in Uncle Ralph's memorial service held in Holstein, NE. Buzz also had a deep sense of empathy with social groups less fortunate, working in the civil rights movement, with the homeless and as a pastor on the Tohono O'Odham Nation reservation in Arizona. He was a good son, brother, husband, uncle, father, and grandfather.
