Death
OAKBORO — Craven C Furr, 79, of Route 2, Graham Road, died on Feb 19, 1988, at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in Concord. The funeral will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elder Rom Kerley and Elder Larry Austin. Burial wiil be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle tonight from 6 to 8. Born May 5, 1908, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Maryland C. and Dixie Burleson Furr. A retired textile employee, he was a member and deacon of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Sides Furr; three sons, Steven Furr of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich, Thomas Furr of Midland and Eldridge Furr of Oakboro; four daughters, Jean Carelock of Sumter, S.C., Mary Austin of Norwood, Blanche Burris of Albemarle and Louise Almond of Oakboro; a sister, Arie Lee Parnell of Concord, 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, February 20, 1988
