OAKBORO — Bessie Rosetta Sides Furr, 83, of 18837 Graham Road died at 4 34 pm Friday, Sept 1, 1992, at Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle. The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Monday at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Rom Kerley and Larry Austin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle where the family will be from 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 20239 Highway 24/27, Oakboro, NC 28129. Born Feb 8, 1909, in Albemarle, she was a daughter of the late William Jeanie Sides and Minnie Burroughs Sides. A homemaker, she was a member of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Her husband, Craven Cephus Furr, died on Feb 19, 1988. Survivors include three sons, R Steven Furr of Ste Sault Marie, Mich, Thomas K Furr of Midland and C Eldridge Furr of Oakboro, four daughters, Marilyn Jean Carelock of Sumter, SC, Mary Frances Austin of Marshville, Blanche Burris of Albemarle and Louise Almond of Oakboro, . . . , four sisters, Grace Bost of Albemarle, Ermine Poplin, Ruby Osteen and Gladys Sides, all of Asheboro, 18 grandchildren. and 21 great-grandchildren.
