Death

Frank Thomas Furr passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006. Beloved husband of 60 years to Rita Souza Furr. Father of the late Frank T. Furr, Jr. Brother of Louella Furr Brown. He will be missed by his special family, Jill, Carley, Jacob and Paul Nelson. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Mr. Furr was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Pacific during World War II as a Chief Boatswain's Mate. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 16 in Covington, LA. Mr. Furr was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Isis Lodge. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, LA. Mr. Furr was a retired River Pilot for the New Orleans Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association . Age 88 years; born in Bude, MS, a former resident of Metairie, LA for over 40 years; and a resident of Abita Springs, LA for the past 10 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the Chapel of E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 12:00 PM . Interment in Pinecrest Mausoleum. Friends may visit from11:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Hwy 1085, Covington, LA 70433.
