Death

Nelson M. Furr, one of Western Stanly’s oldest and most respected, died at his home in Furr township Saturday morning at 2 o’clock at the age of 72 years, three months, and 25 days Mr. Furr was a victim of pneumonia. Funeral rites were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Locust church, with Rev. Adam Hathcock officiating. Surviving are 12 children, six sons and a like number of daughters, as follows: Charles, William, Rufus and Ralph Furr, of Stanfield; John B., of Oakboro, and Roy L., of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Martha Rinehart, Mrs. Jimmie Taylor, Mrs. Alma Ausband and Miss Belzora Fur of Stanfield; Mrs. Norma Springer, of Oakboro, and Mrs. Nellie Hathcock, of Concord.
