OAKBORO -- Mrs Naomi Furr Springer, 81, of East Third Street died at 9 09 am Thursday in Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. The funeral will be 3 pm Saturday in Mineral Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Eddie McCurry. Burial will follow in Oakboro Cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle from 7 until 9 pm today. Mrs. Springer was born in Stanly County on March 31, 1898, daughter of the late Nelson Nathaniel and Eliza Jane Drye Furr. She was the widow of Zeb V. Springer. A member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Mrs. Springer was a home maker. Survivors include two sons, Burns Vance Springer of Hampton, Va and Troy C. Springer of Chester, Va, two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Fusco of San Francisco, Calf. and Mrs. Elease Walker of Charlotte. Two brothers, Wilie Furr of Locust and Ralph Furr of Stanfield, one sister, Mrs. Dwight Osborne of Stanfield nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
