Death

Mrs. Evelyn Vanhoy Mauldin, 70, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in Forrest Oakes Healthcare of Albemarle. She had lived at the home of a granddaughter, Kim Register, 366606 Mauldin Road, Albemarle. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Norwood Church of God with a 30-minute state. The Rev. Donald McGuire will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Born Feb. 4, 1933, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of L.C. and Lula Helms Vanhoy. Retired from Collins and Aikman with 20 years of service, she was a member of Norwood Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Mauldin. In addition to raising granddaughter Kim, she also raised granddaughters, Martha Mauldin and Misty Owens. She is survived by two sons, Barry Wayne Mauldin of Norwood and Jimmy Douglas Mauldin of Albemarle; a daughter, Kathy Taylor of Albemarle; a sister, Ruth Miller of Richfield; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
