Death
Mrs. Agnes A. (Jauch) Jennings, a native of Westcliffe, died of bronchial pneumonia in Pueblo Friday, May 30. She had moved from Gunnison to Pueblo about six months ago. She was 85 years old at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jauch and was married to Ulysses S. Grant Jennings in 1904. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Hope Lutheran church at Westcliffe. Survivors include five sons and three daughters: William Jennings, Mrs. Bessie Furr, George R. Jennings of Pueblo, Mrs. Anna Mae Ehmke of Gunnison, Leander F. Jennings of Hillside, Charles C. Jennings of Canon City, Mrs. Dorothy V. Wood of Colorado Springs and Elmer L. Jennings of Estes Park. She is also survived by one sister, Anna Hall, in California, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Five of her sons and two of her sons-in-law were in service during World War II. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Valley in Westcliffe Monday, June 2. The Rev. Schmidt was in charge of the services. Burial was in Rosita cemetery under the direction of Menzel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were sons and sons-in-law: William Jennings, George R. Jennings, Leander F. Jennings, Charles C. Jennings, Elmer L. Jennings, Robert Ehmke, William F. Wood and Elmer Gilbertson.Wet Mountain Tribune, June 6, 1969
