Death
Another of Custer County's long time residents, Ulysses G. Jennings of Querida, passed away on January 28, 1938. Mr. Jennings was born in Ithica, Michigan on August 22, 1866, moving to Colorado in 1900 to settle in Cripple Creek for a few years. Later on he moved to Querida where he resided for the remainder of his life. On March 3, 1904, he was united in Marriage to Miss Agnes Jauch and to this union were born nine children. His death is mourned by his wife, three daughters; Bessie, Anna Mae and Dorothy; six sons: Hector, William, Lee, Chas., George and Elmer. Besides the immediate family he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Caroline Pendell of Michigan; three brothers; Enos, who resides in California, and Louis and Lafayette of Michigan. A great many friends regret his passing too. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Menzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Slipher conducting. Interment was in Rosita cemetery.Wet Mountain Tribune, February 4, 1938
