MOORESVILLE Mr. Roy Lee McAlister 75, of 323 South Church Street, died Friday, June 1, 2001 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Funeral service is 2 PM Sunday, June 3, at Mt. Mourne Church of God, with Reverend Lawrence Ownbey and Reverend Neil Murry officiating. Interment will be in Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM this evening, June 2, at Neill Funeral Home in Mooresville. A native of Lincoln County, Mr. McAlister was a retired doffer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Howard McAlister, in 1994. Survivors include his son, Allen McAlister of Mooresville; one daughter, Shelby Burkhart and her husband, Brett, of Mooresville; three sisters, Neomia Mashburn of Lincolnton, Laura Jane Jinks of Mooresville, and Neffie Hager of Statesville; as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Mt. Mourne Church of God in Mt. Mourne, NC. Neill Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. McAlister.
