Death
Hubert Ray Lorch ALBEMARLE -- Mr. Lorch, 90, of 1521 Holbrook Court, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at The Country Home, Concord. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 PM Saturday, May 21, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Service will follow at 3:00 PM, in the Lefler Memorial Chapel, Rev. John Futterer officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle. Mr. Lorch was born in Stanly County on September 18, 1914, a son of the late Henry Ray Lorch and Victoria Furr Lorch. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was the retired owner/operator of Lorch Plumbing and Heating. Mr. Lorch attended UNC Chapel Hill. He was a former member of The Rotary Club, and was a member of First Lutheran Church. Survivors include his son, James Ray Lorch of Albemarle; daughter, Linda Ann Cress of Orangeburg, SC; sister, Clara Allen of Albemarle; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lorch was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Dare Dillinger Lorch. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is in charge.Published by Charlotte Observer on May 20, 2005
