Death
Christopher Wayne Furr, 16, of 233 Sandlewood Drive died Friday night in Durham County General Hospital of injuries he received in an automobile accident. Furr was native of Chesterfield County, S.C., but lived in Durham most of his life. He was a junior at Northern High School and was employed at Phil’s Tackle Box. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Good Hope Baptist Church in the Carpenter community by the Rey. Andrew Pickens and the Rev. R. L. Weatherspoon Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Furr is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lela and Phil McCarson of the home; his father, Richard Furr of Cheraw, S.C.; a half sister, Miss Michelle Furr of Raleigh; a stepsister, Miss Tracy McCarson of Greensboro; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Furr of Cheraw, S.C.; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bessie W. Yeargan of the Carpenter community. Pallbearers will be Danny Young, Scott Furr, Chris Womack, Lee Gunn, Scott Winfrey and Chap Anderson. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Clements Funeral Home.
