ALBEMARLE — Joel Wayne Parker, 19, of Rt. 3, died Friday morning at 3:40 o'clock in the Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem after being in declining health for some time. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Kendall’s Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Keith Walters. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral. Members of the Sr. High Sunday School class of Albemarle Wesleyan Church and members of the Young Single Adults of Kendall's Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Born Nov. 8, 1958, in Stanly County, Mr. Parker was a son of Craven Brantley and Helen Hartsell Parker of Rt. 3, Albemarle. He was a member of Kendall’s Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Kristy Marie Furr Parker; two brothers, Tim and Neal Parker, both of Rt. 3, Albemarle; one sister, Mrs. Pat Medlin on Rt. 3, Albemarle; and one half-brother, Ronnie Hartsell of Rt. 3, Albemarle.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, July 15, 1978
