Death

Lester Lee Caudill Sr., of Hopewell, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County, Ky., and had been a long-time resident of Hopewell. Mr. Caudill was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Co. Mr. Caudill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Minnie Sawyers Caudill, and a daughter Rhonda C. Furr. He is survived by his wife, Junetta Caudill of Hopewell; a son, Lester Lee Caudill Jr. and his wife, Amy; a daughter, Peggy C. Elliott and her husband, Alan, all of Prince George; nine grandchildren, Jason Miller and his wife, Lara, Alex Miller and his wife Wilma, Rachel Kirkland, all of Hopewell, Ashley Williamson and her husband Bobby, of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Amy Sobrito and her husband, Ryan, of Hopewell, Luke Miller of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Jessie Wilson and her husband, Robert, of Hopewell, Allen Furr of Vass, N.C., Joshua Caudill of Prince George; a sister, Pal Mira Caudill and her husband, Hansel, of Dinwiddie; a brother Allard Caudill and his wife, Mamie, of Chester; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, in the funeral home chapel with Steven Gardner of In His Footsteps Christian Center in Dinwiddie officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery.
