Death

Gastonia – Annie Frances Furr – 83, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2020 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain with her family by her side. She was born in Gaston County on January 28, 1936 to the late Mary and Henry Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hawkins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother known as "GG" to her loving family who will be greatly missed! She loved going to play bingo with her daughters. Frances loved shopping at thrift stores and the flea market. Left to cherish her memories includes her daughters, Trena Gardner (Leo Justice); Rena McCoy; Mary Even, Darlene Childers; sons, Gene Benge and Allen Huffstickler; grandson, and granddaughters, Richard Lovingood, Scott Breedlove, Michael Shelton, Christy Brymer (Rex Elswick), Amanda Shelton, April Shelton, Glenda Shelton, Angel Roseberry, Junior Evans and Lisa Evans; 26 other grandchildren and great grandchildren. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Living Hope Baptist Church, 609 Osceola Street, Gastonia, NC 28054.
