MRS. VERTA LEE FLURRY BYRD, 84 7601 Jim Ramsey Rd. Vancleave, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1990 in Pascagoula. She was born Sept. 18, 1906 in Vancleave. Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker and a member of Vancleave United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Byrd, (former Sheriff of Jackson County). Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Lavoy) Smith, Vancleave, Mrs. Jerry (Marlene) Furr, San Francisco, Calif.. and Mrs. Royce (Cricket) Furr, Vancleave; and one sister, Mrs. Raymond Mallette, Vancleave. Visitation will be tonight, Oct 10, from 6-9 pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Thursday, Oct 11 at 10 am at No 1 Vancleave Cemetery, Jim Ramsey Rd., in Vancleave with the Rev. Johnny J. Crosby officiating.
