Death

Madelyn Piette, age 80, went to be with Jesus on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home in Freeport, Florida. She was born December 18, 1943, in New London, Connecticut. Madelyn had a heart of gold and loved Jesus with all of her heart. She was a humbled servant of the Lord along side of her husband Ronald Piette for many years in ministry. Her eyes would always sparkle as she talked about her best friend, Jesus. She loved nature and admired God's glory in the beautiful birds and squirrels in her front yard. She always thanked the Lord even on her worst days for another beautiful day. She depended on the Lord's strength every day. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Piette; her daughter, Patricia Ann Furr; two sisters, Judith Beckwith and Roberta LaPointe; and one brother, James Barlow. Madelyn is survived by her two daughters, Debra Lee Evans and husband David and Brenda Lee Piette; five sisters, Ruth Barlow, Nancy Robert, Helene Kerns, Beatrice Nugent and Veronica Maxson; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Black Creek United Methodist Church, 278 Memorial Lane, Freeport, Florida, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Antonelli officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
