COOLEEMEE — Ruth Munday Sprye Furr, 88, formerly of Kannapolis, died Sunday, April 4, 1993, at Davie County Hospital after being In declining health for the past several months. She had been a resident of Heritage Woods Retirement Center in Winston-Salem for the past year. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery, conducted by Rey. Larry Allen. The family will be at Eaton Funeral Home, Mocksville, tonight from 7 to 8. Memorial may be made to the cemetery fund of Liberty United Methodist Church, in care of Bruce Hinkle, Route 7, Mocksville, NC 27028. Born Sept 27, 1909, in Davie County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late William and Mary Owens Munday. A retired inspector with Cannon Mills Co., Kannapolis, with 38 years of service, she was member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Her first husband, Haywood Sprye, and her second husband, Houston Furr, both preceded her in death. Survivors include three sisters, Maude Powlas of Cooleemee, Nora Gentle of Davie Village, Mocksville, and Grace Brown of Winston-Salem, 15 nieces and 16 nephews.
