Death

Rachel Elaine Hartsell, 75, of Concord, NC passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was born November 5, 1943 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Eugene Cox and the late Maggie Creed Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband David Hartsell in 2014; brothers Jim Cox and Robert Cox; sisters Peggy Kee and Frances Ann Cox; and son in law Jay Waskiewicz. Survivors include her son, Stacey Hartsell of Concord, NC; daughter, Robin Hartsell Furr and husband Scott of Concord, NC; daughter, Penny Denise Holleman and husband Roger of Supply, NC; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sister Brenda Kiker of Midland, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Miami Baptist Church, 6701 Miami Church Rd, Concord, officiated by Rev. Robert Howard, with a 30 minute state starting at 12:30pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Hartsell family.
