Death
William ‘Smokey’ Furr, 92, of Lincolnton passed away on February 20, 2013. He was a Navy Veteran, Country music singer, song writer, beloved father and grandfather. His favorite past times were gardening, playing his guitar and singing. He was loved by all who met him, a hard working honest man. He is preceded in death by son, Billy Furr. He leaves behind three sons, Daniel Furr of Lincolnton, Tom Aikin (Kathy) of Lawndale, James Aikin (Cathy) of Lyons, N.Y.; three granddaughters, Patricia Hardin, Heather Aikin and Susanne Swann; great grandchildren, James, Donovan, Ariel, Riley, Lisa and Kelly as well as many nieces and nephews.
