Marshville, NC - Mrs. Marge Sims Pope, 51, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Carolina Medical Center-Union after a short illness. Mrs. Pope was born December 15, 1958 in Lancaster County, S.C., daughter of the late John Wesley and Hazel Lee Furr Sims, she was an employee of Oro manufacturing company. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marge will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 14, 2010 in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Whitecotton and John Jenkins officiating, Entombment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Mausoleum. Survivors include her husband: Donald Reid Pope of the home, two sons: Donald Reid Pope Jr. and wife Stephanie, Kenny Lee Pope and wife Belinda all of Monroe N.C., four grandchildren: Cody Pope, Clayton Pope, Andrea Kiker and Kemp Kiker, two brothers: Mark Sims of South Carolina, Ricky Sims and wife Kathy of Lancaster S.C., one sister: Diane Jenkins and husband Warren of Marshville N.C.
