Death
Ruby Yow Burnette 96, formerly of Stanfield, NC, passed away, Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Britthaven of the Piedmont, Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Burnette was born June 4, 1914, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Jackson “Jack” Burnette; father, George Yow; mother, Martha Furr Yow; and sons, Charles and “Dude” Burnette. Visitation will be Friday, September 24, 6 – 8 p.m, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m, at Freedom Baptist Church, Locust, officiated by Rev. Daryl Sykes. Survivors include her children, Jane Hopkins, Johnny Burnette and wife, Jackie, Vickie Helms and husband, Benton, all of Stanfield, and Mary Page and husband, Hubert, of Midland; brother, Marvin Yow and wife, Mildred, of Concord; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Britthaven for their loving care of their mother. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the Burnette family.Endnotes
