Death

Danny Ray Hankins, 71, of 3871 Village Drive, Trinity, NC, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at home. He was born Nov. 2, 1954, in High Point, to Donald Harold Hankins and Marilyn Elizabeth Davis. He attended Allen Jay schools, where he played high school football and even drove a school bus. He spent more than 50 years in the furniture business, ending his career as the senior design engineer at KI-High Point. He enjoyed boating, motorcycling, and was an avid motor sports enthusiast. As a young child he attended Springfield Friends Meeting, and in his adulthood was a member of The United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Morgan, and a brother, Tony Hankins. In 1973 he married Carol Furr, who survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Robyn Hankins, also of the home, and Lori Lyons and husband Christopher, of Franklinville; his mother-in-law, Faye Furr of Concord; two grandsons, Alexander Lyons and Avery Lyons, both of Franklinville; a brother, Mark Hankins and wife Doris, of Trinity; a sister-in-law, Donna Hall and husband Doug of Plant City, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, David Furr of Plant City, Fla., and Todd Furr and wife Kendra of Salisbury; six nephews and two nieces; an aunt, uncle, and several cousins; a goddaughter, Marissa Williams of Thomasville; and his beloved dogs. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Cumby Family Funeral Home in Archdale.
