Death
CONCORD - Mrs. Cynthia Ruth Lee Long, 69, of 185 Alberta Court, Concord passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born on Aug. 21, 1940 in Cabarrus County to the late George Thomas Lee and the late Ludy Maude Haigler Lee. Mrs. Long retired from Jay M. Robinson High School where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Kannapolis. A visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Monday, June 28, 2010. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Posey and the Rev. Adam Furr officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Pallbearers for Mrs. Long will be Daniel Long, Bryan Long, Jordan Honeycutt, Mike Eudy, Randy Cauthen, Matthew Hathcock, and honorary pallbearer Justin Patterson. The family meeting place will be the home. Mrs. Long is survived by her husband, David Franklin Long of the home; daughters, Kellie Furr and husband, Ray, of Mount Pleasant, Melissa Patterson of Concord, and Connie Honeycutt and husband, Donald, of Kannapolis; son, Timothy Long and wife, Myra, of Concord; grandchildren, Kristin Renee Barbee, Emily Anne Hathcock, Adam Ryan Furr, Daniel Franklin Long, Justin Ray Patterson, Allyson Elizabeth Long, Bryan Lee Long, and Jordan Scott Honeycutt: great-grandchildren, David Franklin Lee Long and Marie Lynnette Long. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hopsice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081. Hartsell Funeral Home Concord is serving the Long family.
