Death

Barbara Furr Wayland of Orlean, VA died on March 28, 2015 in Warrenton, VA. She was born on August 25, 1938 in Memphis, TN. Barbara graduated from Clarksdale High School, Clarksdale, MS and attended Baylor Nursing School in Texas. She moved to Warrenton in 1960 and on October 19, 1963 married Frederic G. Wayland, Jr.. Barbara worked as a nurse for Dr. Robert Iden until her retirement. She served on the Fauquier Hospital Foundation Board from 1988-1996, was President of the Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary from 1994-1996, volunteered at the Fauquier County Library, and enjoyed tennis, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Henry C. and Elizabeth M. Furr, her loving husband, Fred G. Wayland, Jr. and her daughter, Elizabeth Wayland Tierney. Barbara is survived by her son, Scott Wayland and his wife Karolanne of Orlean, VA, her sister, Gloria F. Buck and her husband William, of Warrenton, VA., and her grandchildren, John Scott Tierney, Sean Tierney, Meredith Wayland, and Sarah Wayland. Also surviving are her nieces, Sherri Harris and her husband Kevin and their son Cody Harris and his wife Hannah, Kathy James and her husband Gary and their daughter Holly Cheng and her husband PJ, Cindy Gamble and her husband Jim, and her nephew, Billy Buck and his wife Debbie and son Ryan. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11am at Leeds Cemetery, Markham, VA by Rev. Ann Stribling.
