Death
Kannapolis - Henry Harold Holshouser, 96, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Universal Healthcare, Concord. He was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Cabarrus County, the son of A. J. Holshouser and Julia Wilhelm Holshouser. In early years, he worked for Cannon Mills Company Plant 1 No. 1 Weave Room for 48 years. Later, he operated his own business, Holshouser's Upholstery in Kannapolis. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by the Rev. Bobby Seagroves. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Gertha Nance Holshouser; a sister, Lillie Holshouser; five brothers, John, Will, Baxter, Charlie and Floyd Holshouser. Survivors include his daughter, Alta H. Furr and husband, Ray, of Concord; one granddaughter, Tia Mangum and husband, Brian, of Concord; two great-grandchildren, Ansley and Matthew Mangum; two sisters, Lula Sherrill of Kannapolis and Myrtice Daniel of Kannapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
