James Ervin Thompson, Jr. 'J.T.' Mr. Thompson, age 72, of Charlotte, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center. Born December 26, 1935 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late James E. Thompson and Etta Furr Thompson Shinn. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Thompson retired as an insurance adjuster of Gay & Taylor Insurance Company. The memorial service to celebrate the life of James "J.T." Ervin Thompson, Jr. will be private. Survivors include son, Michael S. Thompson and his wife, Lori, of Indian Trail; brother, Larry Thompson and his wife, Waddell, of Myrtle Beach, two granddaughters, Kayla Thompson and Chloe Thompson, both of Indian Trail; nieces, Julie Thompson Raxter and Gina Turner and her husband, Wes, both of Rock Hill, SC; great niece, Lauren Marlowe of Rock Hill; and great nephew, Casey Turner, of Rock Hill.
