BUHLER - Furr, Arlene Fay Brown, 73, died in Oklahoma City, OK, June 22, 2008. Visitation noon Wed., service to follow at 2 p.m., Mennonite Brethren Church, Buhler. Survivors: husband, Roy; daughters, Patti Stark, Paula Slater, Jacci Pine, Kris Furr; sister, Pat Shepherd; brother, Rex Howe; many Grandchildren. BUHLER - Surrounded by her loving husband and family, Arlene Faye Brown Furr passed away from this life early Sunday morning June 22, 2008, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Arlene was born June 30, 1934, in Greeley, Colorado, to Paul J. and Lucille Jones Brown, and was raised in Hulbert, Oklahoma, by her grandparents, Dr. W.L. and Claudia Brown, all preceding her in death. She attended public schools in Hulbert, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life and best friend, Roy Furr. They married on August 22, 1951, and made their home in Buhler, Kansas. This union was blessed with four daughters, one son, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Roy Dean, and two infant grandchildren. Arlene lived a full, fruitful life, and will be remembered as a woman who loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Roy; her daughters, Patti and Bert Stark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Paula Slater and Michael Winkelman of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jacci and Mike Pine of Kansas City, Kansas, and Kris Furr of Kansas City, Missouri, and their families; a sister, Pat Shepherd of Canby, Oregon, and a brother Rex Howe of Wichita, Kansas. Visitation will begin at noon with services following at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Buhler, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Arlene's name to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Ill, 60601-7633, in care of Buhler Mortuary, 120 N. Main, Buhler, KS, 67522.
